Certified HIPAA Security Program
The Certified HIPAA Security Program is designed to educate Healthcare Professionals and Business Associates to understand HIPAA Security (45 CFR Part 160 and Subparts A and C of Part 164) and guide them with their compliance requirements of this law.
Certified HIPAA Security Administrator (CHSA)
The Certified HIPAA Security Administrator is the second tier of a three-level certification program. The CHSA is geared towards management level or department head professionals that deal with multiple and complex issues regarding HIPAA Security and the challenges that organizations deal with on a daily basis.
Certified HIPAA Security Administrator Bootcamp
The CHSA Bootcamp is taught by experts in the field and the topics covered include but are not limited to Cybersecurity, Breaches, Emergency Management Plan, Releases, Security Risk Analysis (SRAs).
CHSA Certification Test
The CHSA certification test consists of multiple choices and scenarios where the application of their HIPAA Security knowledge is assessed. The test is timed, and candidates have approximately two hours to complete the same.
The CHSA test can only be taken at specified testing centers at specified designated dates. The CHSA test is normally scheduled as part of the EPI Compliance conferences, but additional dates and locations may be pre-arranged on a case-by-case basis.
Prerequisite Requirements
HIPAA Security Officer Certification (CHSO). Based on the complexity of the topics covered under the CHSA program only CHSO with a basic understanding of HIPAA Security may enroll for the certification.
Exam retake policy
Individuals failing to pass the test may be scheduled for an online re-testing section or they can choose to retest at the next scheduled session.
Post Certification Requirements/Renewal
CHSA certification is valid for a period of three years. CHSA’s must complete at least three EPI courses dealing with legal, cybersecurity, and one general course per year.
